ALTERED LANDSCAPES

In 2009, Rupert Williamson began a new venture creating pictures using photographic images. Developing images of the landscape surrounding his workshop in Wiltshire, working on a theme of time and seasons. Exhibiting them on the Wylye Valley Art Trail.
The sky and and time are the prominant themes that he works with using over lapping images for effect.

In 2010 he created pictures using images taken around Fovant and in 2011 visit India photographing the colours of street life.

Rupert Williamson is widely known as British designer and maker of furniture, whose work is in many private and public collections. In the 1980’s he was key member of the World Wide Craft Revival, which was the subject of his PhD. With an archive of work that stretches back more than 40 years, Rupert is best known for his naturalistic inspired designs in contrasting woods. His signature dining chair, designed in 1975, is now in the Victoria & Albert museum collection and has been the foundation for many designs.
His work is regularly exhibited in the
Contemporary Applied Arts Gallery in London, but most of his creations have come about through direct commissions.
